SAN CLEMENTE, CA
December 24, 2004 -- With recent disclosures about potentially
dangerous side effects of pain medications, 70 million
Americans with joint pain must weigh the news against their
own persistent pain. MedicineNet, an online health care
information resource polled 358 consumers to determine their
response to the recent news of a study which has linked
long-term use of Naproxen, Aleve, to heart attacks and
strokes. 26.3% (94) of the consumers polled are very worried,
and 21.2% (76) are not sure what to believe. This poll shows
that the withdrawal of Vioxx from the market and recent
revelations about side effects of Celebrex, and now Naproxen,
are both frightening and confusing consumers. |
